I read about your socio-polotico struggle in Pakistan and some family tangles. I suggest you to read Mahatma gandhi totaly and get some guidance to overthrow Zaradari’s regime. Follow his style of politics [ Non Violence], get the smallest or most common person of the society with you. Live like a comman pakistani and not like a elite pakistani with five star culture. Take the major issues concerning the comman man in Pakistan and start movement and see the results.

Asalamoalikum,
My name is Irfan Akbar, i’m a fighter pilot in Pakistan Air Force, and i read your The Shadow Of The Crescent moon.
First off it impresses me so much when i see someone your age or younger being this good at anything they do, may it be painting or speaking or writing or architecture or anything, it makes me see how people still do so much in their lives because in my opinion when you grow expert in your field then anything you do is a service for generations to come and i hope to read more of your writings.
Coming to the book, as a part of organisation that took direct part in operations in West i had a totally different view of things and this book changed me in many ways, it made me realise how biased my thinking have been when it came to war against terrorism. my awareness and knowledge is based on what we see on tv or what we are briefed by our officials, and its all about how taliban are a potential threat to sovereignty of our country and how people giving them shelter are equally responsible for all the terrorist attacks. In many ways then i’m no better than an american solider who kills innocent with utter conviction that he’s doing it for greater good. This book made me realise a very basic fact, this made me see people of Mir Ali as humans and i’m ashamed to say that i never did before.
When i joined air force i had only one thing in mind, anything done for humanity is worth doing, and for that i need to see people as humans first. Reading this book has served as food for thought, thanks to you. What happened to Sikandar’s son, like so many others, can never be justified, but what i can do is remember him and for that i’ll Inshallah name my son after him, Zalan Akbar.
Now i’ve never written an email for any author and i’m not sure if it reaches Fatima Bhutto, and even when it does i’m not sure if she’ll grab the gist as my command on language is poor, but here it is written in good faith as a token of appreciation for this eye opener i just read.
